Bodegas Ferrera was founded in the 1940s with the purchase by the Ferrera family of the Finca Las Vigas estate, located in a unique enclave, 1,000 metres above sea level, in the middle of a great tongue of volcanic lava in the Güímar Valley (Tenerife). Tomás Ferrera, founder of the bodega, built the most beautiful work on his estate by hand: the dry stone walls. For years he climbed every day with his mule to raise stone by stone the walls that support the quarries where, to this day, the vines of the native grape varieties still survive.
